Coaching Neurodiverse Learners on Executive Functioning Skills

We are pleased to welcome Erin Bosack Garcia, program manager for Educational Endeavors, to speak to the Skinner North community about executive functioning skills for diverse learners. The seminar, Coaching Neurodiverse Learners on Executive Functioning Skills, will address the areas of:

• organization
• time management
• goal setting
• focus

For each topic, we will discuss common challenges for neurodiverse students, explore activities aimed at developing student self-awareness, practice strategies for improved performance, and set potential goals for students. Participants will be invited to reflect on their experiences and will walk away with concrete tools they can use for working with their students.

This is an in-person event with no virtual component.

This seminar is intended for caregivers of diverse learners, but is open to the entire Skinner North community. Upper grade students are welcome to attend under caregiver supervision.

About Erin Bosack Garcia

Erin Bosack Garcia is the program manager at Educational Endeavors (EE), an educational services company that has served the needs of diverse students across Chicagoland for over 20 years. Erin partners with educators and nonprofit leaders to design workshops that teach the noncognitive skills needed for success in any academic setting, from middle school to college. She taught at Glenbrook South High School for ten years before entering her current role. Still passionate about teaching, Erin also serves as a tutor and workshop instructor at EE. She has a bachelor’s in English from Ohio State and a master’s in teaching from National-Louis University.
