Diverse Learners at Selective Enrollment High Schools

As announced yesterday, beginning with the 2021-2022 school year, CPS has set aside 14 percent of seats at Selective Enrollment High Schools for students with IEPs in order to increase equity and representation and provide additional opportunities for diverse learners.

This will more than double the number of seats available to students with IEPs. Information sessions for parents of diverse learners will be held on December 17th and January 5th to provide specifics regarding the application and selection process. The Office of Access and Enrollment sent an invitation to these sessions yesterday to parents of all diverse learners who meet the minimum SEHS eligibility requirements but have not applied to SEHS.
