Vision

The SN Diverse Needs Committee aims to support an inclusive community for all students with focused efforts toward those with an IEP or 504 plans. We invite and encourage all community members to learn more about Skinner North’s special education programming.

Mission

As a group of involved parents, teachers and administrators, we will work collaboratively to build a productive and enriching environment for all of our children by providing parent support, discussing best practices, identifying potential needs, answering questions and having educational speakers and forums, while maintaining the individual rights of students with IEP and 504 plans. We invite all parents, teachers and administrators to join our group as it involves all of us; however, participation is voluntary and will not impact individual special education services.

Main Goals & Measures of Success

Our goal is to work within the CPS ODLSS department guidelines as well as other initiatives determined in collaboration with our principal, staff and parents. We will host regular Diverse Needs Committee meetings, respond to email inquiries, and support inclusion for all students within the Skinner North community.
